Due to its vision to impart technical competence with perfection, AKG Engineering College has emerged as a center of excellence and has been rated as number one by the U.P. Technical University out of over 170 engineering colleges on the basis of students' results and merit. More than 800 students passing out in 2008 and 2009 are already placed in companies like Infosis, I-Flex, Wipro, Perot Systems, Satyam, IBM, iGATE, NIIT, HCL, L & T, M & M, etc.
The Indian Institute of Management and Engineering Society (IIMES), Ghaziabad was registered under the Societies' Registration Act to establish Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College (AKGEC) in 1998. The society was formed by a group of educationists and industrialists of northern India. The latest undertaking of the society is Ajay Kumar Garg Institute of Management (AKGIM) which is an AICTE accredited PGDBM program with a batch strength of 60 students.
IIMES currently operates the AKG Engineering College. which has the distinction of being one of the few self financed institutes to get ISO: 2000 certification by BSI, UK and accreditation by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The institute offers B. Tech. courses in 5 branches of engineering, M. Tech. in Automation & Robotics and MCA, approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to UP Technical University.
