Academic Calendar 2008 - 2009

The academic calendar is divided into three terms and as such there are a total of six terms in two years.

The first year imbibes the students through a common body of knowledge in Principles and Practices of Management, Marketing Management, Organization Behavior, Economic perspectives of Business, Financial Management, Operations management, Quantitative techniques through six full credit courses in each term (4 hrs/week) and two half credit courses namely PDP and Foreign Language (2 hrs/week).This will help build up the decision making and cognitive skills of the student.

This knowledge is applied in real-life business situations through the 6-week summer internship, where the students will get an opportunity to translate their theoretical knowledge into real situations prevailing in business/industries.

The Second Year will enable a student to opt for one major and one minor subject for specialization and gain in-depth knowledge in chosen areas. The students will be groomed in their specialization areas with the option of choosing various electives available in the course

FIRST YEAR

1st Semester : 18 Aug 08 – 7 Nov 08

2nd Semester : 17 Nov 08 – 17 Feb 09

3rd Semester : 23 Feb 09 – 27 May 09

Summer Internship : 1 Jun 09 – 31 Jul 09

CONTACT HOURS


Each Semester consists of 12 weeks for course curriculum + 1 week for exams.Total Contact Hours are 28 Hours per week. The contact hours for Full credit course will be 4 hours per week i.e. 48 Hours Per Semester. The contact hours for half unit Graded Course will be 2 Hours per week i.e. 24 Hours Per Semester.
