Diwali celebration in AKGIM
Deepavali, the literal meaning of which in Sanskrit is ‘a
row of lamp’. Filling little clay lamps with oil and wick and lighting them in
rows all over the house is a tradition that is popular in most of the regions
of the country.
Deepavali celebration continues
for five days starting from Dhanteras follow by Choti Deepavali, Lakshmi pooja
, Govardhan Pooja and ends with Bhai Dooj.
The Deepavali celebration held in AKGIM Campus on 23rd
Oct, 2008 at 3.00 p.m onwards. An auspicious start was made by lightning the
diya signifying the start of Lakshmi pooja. The function began with talent show
(including singing, dancing, playing instrument etc) followed by Quiz contest.
Faculties took participation with full enthusiasm as musical chair game
organized for them. The celebration end with dance session. The function was
pleasant and everybody enjoyed.
